The Revolutionary Movement of N.W.A.

"Straight Outta Compton" takes place in Compton California during the mid 1980's. This biographical drama is based on the true events of 5 young rap pioneers who would evolve pop culture and hip hop forever. The title, "Straight Outta Compton" derives from their 1988 double platinum debut album which helped define west coast gangster rap. "The record was among the first to offer an insider's perspective of the violence and brutality of gang-ridden South Central L.A. With songs like "Fuck tha Police" and "Gangsta Gangsta" set in a chaotic swirl of siren and gunshot sounds, it also foreshadowed the 1992 L.A. riots". "Straight Outta Compton" is based on the rise and fall of N.W.A. and their experiences throughout life living in the hood. The revolutionary rappers of N.W.A. consisted of Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Dj Yella, and MC Ren.
