As the summer months approach, we are reminded that this season is an energetic time of year. In many ways, the coming of summer brings with it new beginnings and fresh outlooks. These new beginnings and outlooks translate to the world of streetwear and are evident in the latest collections and collaborations from various brands. It has been an exciting month thus far for brands such as, Supreme, Bape, Huf, and FTP as summer 16' kicks off. The arrival of these brands newest collections are a true reflection of all the promises summer is sure to bring.
Supreme, Barrington Levy and Jah Life Contribute to SS16
Prominent streetwear label Supreme launches another exciting collaboration with Barrington Levy and Brooklyn based record label Jah Life. For those who may be unfamiliar with Barrington, he is one of the most influential reggae artists, famously "renowned as the first original singer of the dancehall era".
By Joining forces they have launched yet another addition to Supreme's Spring Summer 16 Collection. This collection features graphic t-shirts, tank tops, and hoodies that depict imagery from original artwork and are available in an assortment of bright colors to mimic your summer vibes.
Babe and Disney Rekindle Partnership
Japanese streetwear brand Bape has rekindled its partnership with mass media giant Disney. After four years without a single collaboration, Bape and Disney have decided to continue their decorated past of success.
This time around, the collaboration is expected to include the release of four limited edition graphic t-shirts of Mickey Mouse with Bape camouflage. The collection is available in two different styles offered in both grey and black.
Huf and FTP First Time Collaboration
California based skateboarding brand Huf and infamous streetwear label FTP have teamed up for an epic first time release. If you are not familiar with FTP, they are no stranger to controversy and strive on pushing boundaries. The two labels have linked up to supply you with t-shirts, socks, and sneakers. At the risk of sounding too bias, the sneakers are dope, and are in my opinion a must cop!
The month of June has been good to the loyal streetwear fan, and appears to only be getting better. Stay tuned for the latest drops and related news in street fashion at V4 New York.
